Rita M. Ryan

Rita M. Ryan, J.D., LL.M, is an associate, practices in the areas of international and domestic taxation, estate planning, and tax controversy. Prior to joining the firm, Rita was a Senior Associate in PricewaterhouseCooper’s National Tax Services, Exempt Organization Tax Services group. While at PwC, Rita provided specialized tax consulting and compliance services to non-profit organizations including higher education institutes, foundations, and health care systems. Prior to her tenure at PwC, Rita served as an Appeals Officer with the Massachusetts Department of Revenue, Office of Appeals, where she heard and issued letters of determination with regard to corporate, individual, and estate tax matters.

Rita is a member of the Boston Tax Institute faculty where she co-teaches “International Tax of Individuals” as well as “International Tax Form Compliance.”
Rita is also an adjunct faculty member at the Boston University School of Law’s Graduate Tax Program where she co-founded and co-teaches “Foreign Information Reporting and Withholding.”

Rita is a graduate of Marist College (B.A. 2004, cum laude), Western New England University School of Law (J.D. 2007), and Boston University School of Law (LL.M. Tax 2008). Rita graduated as a Fellow from the Massachusetts Bar Association Leadership Academy and was appointed as a member of the MBA’s Taxation Law Section Council in 2018. Rita is admitted to the Massachusetts Bar and is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association and Boston Bar Association.
