2 CPE Credits $41.00/credit hour
(No Ratings Yet)

This advanced level course provides experienced government audit professionals with in depth, practical guidance on reporting and communicating internal control and compliance findings in audits conducted under the U.S. Government Accountability Office’s Yellow Book, formally known as Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS). Clear, well supported audit findings are essential to transparency, accountability, and driving corrective action within government programs. This course is designed for auditors responsible for evaluating, drafting, reviewing, and communicating complex internal control and compliance issues.

Participants will learn how to evaluate internal control deficiencies, determine their severity, and develop complete audit findings using the criteria–condition–cause–effect–recommendation framework. The course emphasizes compliance findings, materiality, questioned costs, and integration with Single Audit reporting requirements under Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200). Through real world examples and peer review insights, attendees will strengthen their ability to communicate sensitive issues—including fraud, noncompliance, and abuse—to management and those charged with governance with clarity, professionalism, and impact.
