B. Paul Husband

B. Paul Husband is a graduate of Occidental College, and the School of Law at the University of California at Los Angeles, where he was a member of the UCLA-Alaska Law Review. Mr. Husband’s practice includes taxation law and litigation, equine law, and entertainment law.

Mr. Husband served for 20 years as an American Horse Shows Association Judge in the Arabian Division, before retiring as a judge in 1995. He is presently a member of the Arabian Jockey Club Racing Commission and the Arabian Jockey Club Graded Stakes Committee. Mr. Husband has lectured on tax and legal aspects of the horse industry at Colorado State University and California Polytechnic University at Pomona. He has lectured on tax topics to the California State Bar Tax Section and California Tax Policy Conference, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the Beverly Hills Bar Association, the American Bar Association Tax Section, the American Horse Council Tax Conference and nine times at the University of Kentucky National Equine Law Conference.

He has published tax and equine law articles in numerous publications. He is a member of the Board of Advisors and is a regular contributor to The American Horse Council Tax Bulletin. He is a contributor of material published in the Horse Owners and Breeders Tax Handbook (T. Davis, Ed. American Horse Council 2011). Mr. Husband is co-author along with Richard W. Craigo of the 2008 UK/CLE Equine Law Monograph Series publication: Tax Planning for Horse Owners and Breeders. He was elected and presently serves as a Director of the American College of Equine Attorneys.
