Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Understanding the Requirements

Author: Lynn Fountain

CPE Credit:  2 hours for CPAs

The term Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) is a phrase that is used to describe programs that promote participation of different groups of individuals within the corporate processes. This includes professionals of various races and ethnicities, ages, genders, religions, cultures, sexual orientations as well as abilities and disabilities. Diversity sometimes also includes the range of ideas and perspectives evident in the workforce.

In today’s multicultural workforce, these concepts are considered critical to promote equal opportunities in the workplace. Over the years, each of these concepts have been highlighted in various corporate efforts and all are important to bring together professionals with varying perspectives and ideas to create a value centered team and organization. In this training, we will explore the concepts of diversity, equity and inclusion each as a separate component of a strong human resource process. We will then take a look at how the combined concepts can bring ultimate value to your workplace and business.
