Skills based training focuses on how to do something specific and results in a learned skill that can be used immediately. Skills based hiring evaluates job candidates based on the skills that they bring rather than on their broad qualifications and work history. Many human resources and business experts consider a skills based approach to be the future of workforce management. Skills based hiring can expand and diversify the candidate pool, while skills based training for existing employees leverages scarce training resources to maximum benefit while enhancing employee growth, development and satisfaction.
